MY LAST VACATIONS IN CARTAGENA
(teacher's example)

Last year during my vacation time I went to Cartagena, I stayed for a week in my sister's house. There, I visited many interesting places and I met many people from different countries. I travelled with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed the trip. We visited San Felipe de Baraja’s Castle which is a historical fort that Spanish people built many years ago. We also visited the “Ciudad amurallada” and the “Centro histórico” of the city; that was a very exciting experience because we learnt very much. One of the things I liked the most, was the sea, the weather was very sunny and hot. We swam a lot during our last days before returning. When we came back, we told to our parents about the experience and we were very happy for our holydays.

Colombian cultures

Colombian cultures

Colombian culture, as a part of the South American culture, is diverse and very colorful. Colombian culture bears the influences of several other cultures. Apart from the original and culture of the native people, there have been lots of other European races living in Colombia and all of them have colored the main culture of this South American countryColombia.

Owing to geography, Colombia contains five main natural regions namely, the Andes mountain ranges, the Caribbean Sea coastal region, the Pacific Ocean coastal region, the Llanos (plains) and the Amazon rain forest region. Colombia is located in the northwestern region of South America. This has led to a diversified Colombian culture. Moreover globalization and urbanization have changed the Colombian way of living.

Colombian culture is a store house of several other cultural influences. In the mainstream of Colombia culture there are influences of Spanish and African cultures also. The Spanish cultural influences have come because of the colonizers in this country. And the African culture indicates to the slave trading in this country as a part of the whole South America. The cultures of Colombia have different traits because of the regional differences also. This regional cultural influences can be divided into main three groups like the interior group, the countryside culture and the coastal regional cultural influences.

Colombian culture is a sum total of several important things like the geographical location, its colonizers, the religious groups and many other things. These are all reflected in the language, daily lifestyle, religion and in many other aspects of Colombia life. The languages of this country have several distinctive accents. Like the Caribbean people here have accents that have affinity with the Cuba accent. Daily eating habit also reflects the influences of the Spanish and also the native food habit. Colombian culture has both the performing and the other forms of art as a very important of their culture.
